About the job

As a System Engineer, you will strengthen our team for the development of a robotic medical device. You are a technical specialist that is able to overview the whole system, while also having the ability to go into a high degree of technical detail. We are technology enthusiasts – we want to add a systems engineer to our hardware team who is equally passionate about working on a complex, completely new robotic system.


You will be responsible for one or more sub-systems. For these sub-systems you will be in the lead of the verifications and validations. In addition you will be responsible to prepare the sub-systems for series-production. You will be responsible for:

  • Being owner of one or more sub-systems, defining and implementing design improvements

  • Defining and execution of verifications at sub-system level and system level

  • Working together with mechanical and assembly engineers to realize and verify our designs

  • Collaborating with suppliers for outsourced components and sub-systems

  • Guarding requirements making sure the device complies with all relevant standards

  • Troubleshooting issues both at sub-system and system level

Job requirements

What we are looking for
Must have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or similar background
  • >5 years working experience in design & development mechatronic devices
  • Experience with development of actuated (dynamic, moving) systems

Nice to have:

  • Experience with the design of medical devices
  • Experience in preparing devices for series-production.
  • Experience with collaborating and managing external suppliers
  • Experience in detailed design, using CAD software
  • Experience in prototyping software (e.g. Python, Arduino)
