Strategic Projects Manager

  • Utrecht, Netherlands

Job description

Strategic Projects Manager

Staffing shortages in healthcare, aging population and rise in chronic diseases are huge problems that the health sector is currently facing. These problems will continue to persist in the coming years. The issue is especially pronounced in the field of laboratory medicine. We need breakthrough solutions to guarantee timely and reliable test results for patients. Vitestro is the first company in the world to commercially introduce an autonomous blood drawing device in European hospitals end 2024. The unique technology combines 3D ultrasound based on AI and precision robotics to perform a blood drawing procedure autonomously. The team, based in the Netherlands, has worked six years on the development while growing to 60 people. With this device, we address an unmet clinical need, supporting clinical laboratories to offer great access to care with fast and correct diagnoses for patients.

The product

Vitestro’s autonomous blood drawing device can perform all the steps of the procedure (e.g. tightening the tourniquet, scanning the arm, selecting a suitable vein, bringing the needle in, filling the blood tube to the right level, mixing them, and placing a bandage on the puncture site), and can simultaneously inform the patient on the progress and what to do during the procedure via the user interface screen. Through this interface, the patient can also start the procedure once ready. The device will typically be used in an outpatient setting.
