Let's transform healthcare
At Vitestro, we will be the first to introduce autonomous blood drawing technology to European hospitals. Our team is growing rapidly. Do you have the pioneering mindset required to introduce this breakthrough innovation to patients? This is your opportunity to join us as a Manufacturing Engineer.
Who we are
At Vitestro, transforming patient care is at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is simple but profound: to improve the lives of millions of patients. With a team of over 90 passionate professionals, we tackle the most complex challenges and develop cutting-edge solutions that are shaping the future of healthcare. Staffing shortages, an aging population, and the rise in chronic diseases are huge problems the healthcare sector is currently facing. At Vitestro, we’re on a mission to address these issues by improving patient care with our unique technology—and yes, we’re bloody serious about that! Our culture is driven by innovation, a can-do mentality, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. It’s what sets us apart. If the thought of joining a dynamic, high-impact team excites you then we’d be thrilled to have you on board as we continue pioneering the future of healthcare.
By combining AI-powered ultrasound and precision robotics, our team has developed the world’s first autonomous blood-drawing device. This innovation will revolutionize healthcare by enhancing efficiency and precision in patient care. As we approach a major milestone with the launch of our device to our first customers, we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team as we expand further into European and US markets in the years ahead.
Manufacturing Engineer
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Vitestro, you are the driving force that makes production move and improve. You turn our groundbreaking medical device designs into efficient, reliable, and on-time production reality. In a fast-growing scale-up where we are inventing our product and processes while ramping up production, you bring energy, ownership, and structure to turn plans into real results.
You’ll work hands-on on the production floor and collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to continuously improve manufacturability, reduce waste, and resolve issues fast. You thrive in an environment where challenges appear daily and where your drive and creativity make the difference.
This role demands initiative, technical depth, and the ability to translate problems into solutions. You don’t wait for directions — you see what needs to be done and make it happen.
You report directly to the Operations Manager and play a key role in scaling Vitestro’s manufacturing from a few units to full-series production.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain a stable, high-performing manufacturing process — take charge of daily issues, drive root-cause resolution, and align with QA for release and documentation
Lead process optimization projects to improve quality, efficiency, timeliness, and scalability across assembly, calibration, and testing
Own production tooling and fixtures — ensure all tools are available, designed, validated, and maintained according to ISO 13485 to guarantee process stability, repeatability, and operator safety
Align with R&D to improve manufacturability and implement design updates
Foster a culture of continuous improvement — apply Lean principles to drive daily performance gains
Support the execution of outsourcing activities for subsystems (led by others)
Ensure process documentation, work instructions, and ERP data are accurate and complete
Safeguard product and process quality under ISO 13485 in collaboration with QA
Job requirements
What you will bring
Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
4+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing or production engineering — preferably in MedTech or high-tech equipment
Proven ability to get things done in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Hands-on mindset — comfortable on the production floor as well as in meetings
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, process improvement and/or Kaizen
Strong communicator — you keep teams aligned and take others with you
Proactive, energetic, and results-driven — you take initiative and follow through
Strong communication skills; fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
You’ll fit right in if you...
Like solving problems rather than describing them
Get energy from action, not from waiting
Enjoy switching between strategy and hands-on work
Bring positive energy and structure to an environment that’s still evolving
What we offer
Competitive salary including pension plan
25 days of annual leave based on a full-time position
Hybrid work model
Working together in a high-skilled team with our home base in Utrecht
Frequent out-of-work activities with our team (such as our Skitestro ski-trip)
Training budget
Opportunity to be key shaper of a new global industry niche: autonomous medical robotics
