As a Data Engineer in the Application Team at Vitestro, you will play a critical role in enabling our engineering teams to make data-driven decisions and gain deep insights into our device and supporting systems. This is a unique opportunity to join a greenfield project, starting from scratch, offering a vibrant environment for innovation and creativity. Your Responsibilities

In an agile environment, you will:

• Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines, workflows, and our data lakehouse architecture.
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure data collected from our devices is accessible, reliable, and optimized for analytics and decision-making.
• Work closely with functional architects and business teams to understand requirements and deliver clean, structured datasets and high-level reports.
• Partner with cloud engineers to integrate data workflows into our AWS-based cloud platform.

You will also have opportunities to grow by contributing to data science projects, including in-depth analytics for fault analysis, business decisions, and machine learning of our AI algorithms on the device.

What You Bring

• A master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Physics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years in a data engineering or analytics role.
• Proficiency in Python and software engineering practices, with the ability to coach others in Python design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with data lakehouses and ETL tools (e.g., Apache Iceberg, Data Lake, Databricks, Airflow, Dagster, dbt) and relevant Python packages (PySpark, Pandas, Polkars, PyArrow).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-Haves

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab), and AWS data services (e.g., AWS Glue,  AWS Athena, Azure Data Factory).
• Experience with data science techniques or MLOps.
• Exposure to the medical device industry and related standards.
